ABOUT K-NIC

K-NIC is a one-stop business support center operated by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Kawasaki City, and Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion. The center offers one-on-one consultations, business development programs, events and coworking space to support new businesses, particularly R&D startups. Our support services are accessible nationwide and generally free of charge.

  • Entrepreneurs, startups and individuals aiming to start a business across various fields, including research and development focused type companies.
  • Small and medium-sized businesses looking to start a second business
  • Corporations, financial institutions and investors interested in interacting with entrepreneurs and ventures

We offer various support menus for different stages of entrepreneurship.
To access these services, please schedule a communicator interview first.

Communicator Interview for New Users

Our English-speaking Communicators will assess your needs and guide you to the appropriate support menu. Please schedule this interview as your first step.

Special Advisor Interviews - for professional

This support menu is designed for individuals in the advanced business phase, such as those with prototype or who are in the process of meeting with investors. Experienced specialists in R&D startup support provide multi-faced advice and assist in matching with the business companies. Consultations are generally conducted in Japanese.

Specialized Consultation - for specific questionsand concerns.

Consultations are provided by experts in various fields, ranging from business challenges related to starting a business, such as commercializing technology seeds and developing a business model, to business challenges on financing, intellectual property strategies, and technology-specific concerns. Marketing and social business experts are also available.

Consultations are generally conducted online.

R&D startup support program - for those looking for business growth

We offer programs for various goals such as commercializing technology seeds, training in design-thinking, or pursuing NEDO funded or subsidized projects. Please apply for the program that best fits the stage of your business. The programs are conducted online or offline.

Events - for gathering knowledge and information

Various events are held regularly, including seminars on entrepreneurship and management, pitch events, and networking events for entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, and companies. The events are conducted online or offline.

Coworking spaces - for those looking to work and networking

We offer free desks, meeting rooms, and spaces for casual meetups. The spaces are available at no cost for registered member.

Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, New Year's Day and New Year's Eve (12/29~1/4) holidays.

Access from JR Kawasaki Station to K-NIC

Take the pedestrian walkway from the west exit of JR Kawasaki Station to MUZA KAWASAKI.

Enter MUZA Kawasaki 2F from the main entrance.

Enter the office lobby through the automatic door on your right.

The elevator lobby is on the left side of the office lobby.

Take the lift marked "5-16" to the 5th floor. Please note that other lifts do not stop at 5F.
